Our History
A photo from ~1993 of Professor Donal Day and Todd Averett, graduate student (of Ralph Minehart long retired). Todd is now a full professor at W&M and very active at JLAB.
This was posed and it appeared in the University weekly (hard copy) newspaper, Inside UVa. The photo was taken by a good friend of mine, Michael Marshall who was a writer for Inside UVa.
We were in our first polarized target lab in what is now called the High Energy Building, You can see a label on the magnet cryostat/outer vacuum can. It is of the iconic representations of UVa and the University of Basel.
The big pump line, the microwave tube and the wave guides are easily identified
